In Chicago, Illinois on December 05,1901, Elias and Flora Disney were blessed with a baby. Which they named
Walter Elias Disney after Reverend Walter Parr. Walt had three brothers, Roy, Ray and Hubert and one sister, Ruth.
His first drawings were done with coal and toilet paper at the age of 16. He left school to study at Kansas City Art Institute in 1915. In 1917 he studied at the Chicago Art Institute. When he was 22, he began cartoon animation with his brother Ray in Hollywood, California.
Walt and Lillian Bounds were married on July 13, 1925. They had two children, Diane and Sharon Disney.
In 1928 at the age of 26, Walt created the infamous Mickey Mouse!
In January of 1966 Walt became a grandfather to Victoria, by his youngest daughter Sharon.
December 15, 1966 at the age of 65, Walter Elias Disney, died of acute circulatory collapse caused by lung cancer.
Durning Walt's life he received more than 950 honors and citations worldwide including 7 Emmy Awards and 48 Academy Awards.
